The CBU carbon water filter introduces a groundbreaking design that merges carbon block technology with a central hollow fiber ultrafiltration (UF) core. This 10-inch cartridge combines effective chemical adsorption with a durable physical UF membrane barrier, using the same high-performance coconut shell carbon and advanced binders found in our NSF-certified PCB filters. Carbon block filters are advanced water filtration components crafted by compressing premium coconut shell carbon into a dense, microporous block. This structure maximizes surface area and contact time, enabling the filter to efficiently remove a wide range of contaminants—including chlorine, chlorine byproducts, VOCs, chemicals, tastes, odors, and particulates—while delivering high dirt-holding capacity and strong performance at elevated flow rates. The hydrophilic carbon in our PCB filters is surface-modified to enhance adsorption of dissolved substances, resulting in cleaner, better-tasting water. In our CBU1010, this carbon block is paired with a hollow fiber ultrafiltration (UF) membrane rated at a nominal 0.01 microns, adding a physical barrier that mechanically screens out particles smaller than 0.01 microns—including bacteria, cysts, parasites, and other pathogens—and removes up to 99.99% of bacteria, viruses, and protozoa.

By combining mechanical filtration, physical adsorption, chemical reactions, and ultrafiltration, this innovative filter removes harmful pollutants and is manufactured using advanced techniques to ensure exceptional quality and consistency. Its versatility makes it ideal for standard under-sink and whole-house filtration setups, and a must-have pre-filter in reverse osmosis (RO) systems—helping prevent membrane fouling caused by chlorination while adding an extra layer of biological safety upstream of the RO membrane.

Measuring 2.75 x 9.8 inches (70 mm x 250 mm), this filter fits most universal 10-inch housings from leading brands like Watts, Pentek (including slimline), iSpring, Culligan, EcoPure, SimPure, and Hydronix.
